[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Aug-12-02 AT 11:50AM (GMT)[p]Greeting to all F1 and F2 team - thank you for the best game I've ever played! and to all Fallout - fans :)

1. First of all I want to declare:
I am 26 (first time I've played Fallout I was 22) and I am going to play F3 (when it comes) even if I became 30 or more!

2. I knew it is hard to make such a complicated game a multiplayer one but I suggest to make it some sort of partal cooperative one.
I mean - a team of 1 - 5 net players walking together and one of them is a "Leader" who takes quests and only his words triggers the quests. The other players are companions - they can talk with npcs and do everything but their talking dont trigger anything. And so on..
Some sort of partal cooperative - I think not so hard to develop but still having the feel of a net cooperative game.

3.Some other suggestions:
- 3D
- isometric view, 3th person
- realtime with posibility to switch ( with one key and with indicator on the interface not like arcanium - you dont know in what mode are you in the moment) to turn based
- not very large (timeplay places quests so on) nor too small - I think little bit larger than f2 is fine
- more talking heads ( I will never forget Harold ;) , more videos (use divx for best size/quality)
- combat engine improvement - like Fallout Tactics ( When it came out and I try it I use to imagine that FOT is some sort ot preview for Fallout3 combat engine) or similar.

and most important thing - KEEP THE SPIRIT of previous Fallouts!

Arcanium was a very good game , there are some quite important innovations but it hasn't the Fallout spirit. Don't loose it!

Improvement? You mean where melee and HtH were useless? Fucking the balance isn't an improvement, kid.

It's funny you say this after saying things like "3D", "Real Time Combat" and several other "improvements".

Fallout's spirit is rooted in a PnP type system, el_leone. If it's REEL TIEM(tm), it obviously is going to lose that lovely PnP feel, isn't it? There's a reason they took the extra time to impliment the hexagonal movement/combat system in Fallout when the tiles are "square".

Furthermore, notice the look Fallout had. It kind of looks like an old pulp 50's comic, doesn't it? Try that in 3D.

heh .. kid .. :) how old are you?
I don't think melee or unarmed are useless - I am using unarmed (with lots a fun) almost to the final battle

First - I prefer turn based mode but there are many circumstances ( for example - you are level 40 and you enter a cave with 50 rats) where the realtime mode is most suitable.
Second - 3D doesn't hurt the fallout spirit if the we have talanted animators and 3D designers working on (I don't doubt Black Isle has such). I like the animated folks much than 3D ones (they are more detailed) but 3D is the future man! Look at Warcraft 3 3D engine! They do lots of different things with it easy like a piece of cake.
I can say that I like animated more than 3d but lets make easier the developers work :)

Third - you didn't say anything about the main idea which I shared (I wrote this post mainly for this) - Idea for some kind of partal cooperative mode.

That's an argument made by some idiots on the BIS boards. That's a design flaw in having an encounter where the player couldn't leave quickly from dealing with it if they were too weak. Fallout 1 had the enemies "appear" on top of you, but that was mainly for a bit of danger. Otherwise you would have been easily to run from every random battle, and there wasn't that many of note in Fallout 1.

That was something BIS fucked up on their own in Fallout 2. "Yes, we stuffed a shitload of rats into a previous game...so to fix it, instead of a more logical manner of making better encounters...we're going to put in RT combat for those too poor to afford Ritalin and can't bear to drudge through our poor design."

Having to include a whole new combat system just because of previous poor implementations of Fallout 2's Cave of a Thousand Rats is perhaps one of the most stupid design ideas ever. RT and TB do not mix, period. Never have, and never will, because of the mechanics of each.

Sure, they probably couldn't do it to a good idea, but let's have it doen that way, anyays! What kind of fucked-up logic is that? 3D is not the future completely. To insist that it should be 3d for the fuck of it while they couldn't is just asking for the game to look like 3D Ass™. 2d is far better than shitty 3d, FAR BETTER. Let's not forget the foot-thick tables in Torn, screenshots that looked like a colonostomy slide, and other ways in how BIS made the ShitTech engine look worse than previously possible.

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Aug-15-02 AT 03:47AM (GMT)[p]Let's not forget that NWN's role playing abilities were crippled because they decided to use that Aurora engine for the sake of making a 3D "RPG".

Rosh pretty much nailed the case on everything else.

Gee, i think i read something about Fallout On-Line in your message (Beep...Beep...Beep... Warning! Warning!). Anyhow do you know ONI and Marathon? both were Bungie's game that were pioneer (Marathon is an FPS with Multi level platform (So there is a room above another room, It's Technical you know!) like the Duke 3d and ONI is an 3rd Person like Max Payne but both were lacks of popularity (at least on PC). But Max Payne and Duke Nukem were staple, and both were 3D REalms Game. Imagine! If someone (like Square Soft!) do this to Interplay if Interplay create those 3D-Isometric-realtime-blah..blah..blah-Mambo Jambo called Fallout III, and the next FF series became more popular.......
There will be no more FAllout!! Remember, Better engines not mean better game.....
The End

why all are talking about the 3D?
I just mention it.
Why anybody didn't tell nothing about the cooperative game idea?

The cooperative game idea sounds cool, but i liked fallout cuz it had an involving single-player only story that i could play late at night without ne servers and shit. I think they should focus on single-player aspect only and make a KICK ASS SINGLE PLAYER ONLY game, than a decent single/multiplayer game with a 3d engine. But thats just my opinion...
