Hello, as I'm sure you can tell from my username, I am a fan of both of these games. In fact, despite minor artistic differences, I truly think the retro 50's-60's feel of both games go together like peanut butter and jelly. XP This leads to my mod and/or port request.


I would like to request (if anyone is interested) that someone develop an option under character creator to play the Red Engineer's skin as a character in FA: NV. If you want to add the blue engi and other characters, that's fine, but I would really like to run around as the Red Engi as he is the more popular of the two engis (primarly due to "Meet The.." ads) and the fact that he comes from the one of the SW states (Texas). Also, the trying to rebuild old tech facet of the game would fit him to a t also.


Of course, this leads to minor issues in the character generator. For example, "helmets/hats" are not in the generator, nor are glasses/goggles, but hair is. I suppose in the generator, just for him, it could be re-labeled Scalp and add a additional facial part for the shades/goggles option, but that'd still leave the issue of what would happen when he put a helmet or hat on. Of course, it could just go on top of his other helmet/hat (like the silly Haberdashers from TF2), but it'd probably be best just to leave the helmet off. In fact, he does have an elvis-type hairdo and bald scalp unlocks in the Team Fortress 2 Update. As for the eyes, I think there are models of him w/o his goggles available.

Another issue would be what he'd start out with. Of course, he wouldn't have the toys he'd have in TF2-after all his courier alter ego has nothing either, except for a few trinkets, a cut-rate pistol, and for a lucky few, pre-order content. He also only starts out w/ his undies and shirt. X_x For the engi, I don't think that'd be an issue though as he never had body armor to begin with. Just a shirt and suspenders and one glove, how the other clothing sets would fit over this, I guess the programmer would have to figure out. X( Also, I think the editor should have an option of swtiching out one of the hands w/ the gunslinger cyber hand (for fairness, it'd have the same stats as the regular hand, just a different sound fx and animation than he would have w/ a plain fist). I know some ppl would say the mechanical fists in game are the same thing, but it just plain looks cool and the animation and sounds it makes are just plain fun.

Also, would it be possible to give Engi Courier the various lines he'd say in TF2? IE: Commands, Retribution, vengance, replies, etc? I'd like to hear those in combat and when issuing commands to companions and possibly even during quest dialogue. Him talking about building a sentry would be fitting if he was to go get ED-E for his party, for example.

Also, could some of the TF2 music be added to the Pipboy Radio stations, either mixed in w/ the other music/news on the various stations or as a station all it's own. In particular, I'd like to hear what is more or less his theme song "More Gun" both the original and remix made for his update about a year back. It's still moody, but slightly less moody than the regular FA music. Also, I suppose the music used in the TF2 soundtrack could be mixed in w/ the background music/soundtrack not on the radio but is in the game itself.


I hope someone out there would be interested in doing this. I'm even willing to "donate" some cash as incentive for this project. If anyone is interested in taking up this challenge, pm me or post here. X-/
