Look, Ma! Two Heads!
(For Silencer: thanks for the info in my previous post. If I couldn't follow Silencer's info properly, please someone dip me in the Vats).

I feel I can say I started the actual making of my mod, so without further ado:
I’m very, very proud to officially announce my first mod ever: Fall ’2076, Or:
A Couple of Things You Might Consider When You Don’t Feel Like Kicking The Bucket.

The story so far:
Five years ago you were recruited by Poseidon Oil and sent to work in the firm’s headquarters in Florence, north California. After the Great Downsize in 2062 here the firm built a new district, a real self sufficient community with little contacts with the rest of the town. You lived here ever since. Two years ago you decided to book a place in one of the newly built Vaults. This cost you a lot of money. Also due to the current international situation you are thinking to speed things up: you are going to ask for a loan. Today is November the 1st, 2076, and it is payday. You get to your work place to get your hard earned money…

What the mod contains: a brand new story based on Fallout Bible and universe, yet with a different setting than the one you are used to; some 10 MAIN outdoors areas and many indoor \ underground locations; a few tens of new quests (each can be solved in at least 2 ways) and several other things to do; good \ bad path choice;2 factions to be joined (no, you won’t be able to discover every bit of the mod with a single character); a few hard dogfights and a lot of dialogue. And for once no Save The World business, this time you must fend for yourself.

Now, dear friends, let me give you the big picture of Florence, I’ll introduce you to some very important people and places in town. Please follow me, just watch your purses and…*cough*, please be sure you do not step out of the trail.

This smartly dressed man is Mr. Barrett, head of Poseidon Oil Human Resources and one of the most influential men in town. What do you say? “Where did he find the money to buy a fusion powered car in this time of trouble?” Do not worry, you are going to learn soon enough. Trust me…

This building houses Swallow and Devourer Bank: the fine lady you see is Miss Panglos. She is the one you must talk to if you are about to ask for a loan. She is a very optimistic person, and she is always willing to chat about how wonderful life is, giving good advice to other people about their lives and problems… It’s not strange she is very popular in Florence (no, she is neither related nor connected to anybody you might think you are acquainted with).

This harmless oldtimer is “Rich” Rickie, he used to be one of the most influential men in town, at least until some twenty years ago. Just after he announced he was running for Mayor he was held as the sole responsible for the B. Buildings Affair; this was a bankruptcy which occurred under very unclear circumstances. Many a Florence towner lost their savings. Rickie and his lawyers pretended they knew nothing at all, but luckily for the community the Private Security managed to nail this criminal with hard evidence. Rickie lost his sanity after that. Currently he lives near the Crash House Motel, he always thinks he’s coming back from a business trip onboard his Rolls…No, he is not dangerous, and NO, you may not feed him.
The woman in black you see is Maria, a taxi cab driver in town. She might be willing to ease your pain in running across different town areas, just pay her in advance and do not give her any bullcrap. Also be sure to keep your hands off her, or you’ll lose them both.

These are the dedicated Home Defense Units boys who keep the riff-raff off the tax-payers properties. Many of these brave soldiers valiantly fought against the Chinese in Alaska, thus stopping their invasion attempt. If you wish to get acquainted with these boys and girls just be sure to stop by Becky’s Bar in Business District, you won’t be disappointed.

After the govern cut funds for civilian security, Florence Police lost control of part of the town; anyway do not worry:
the righteous tax-payer is under the protection of Private Security. The man with the fedora is Mr. Kerley. He belongs to a kind of lawyers they do not graduate anymore. Competent, trustable and square-shouldered. If you need someone to seat before a court and litigate for you, then know he is the man who can get the job done. He won twice the Californian Prize for the Most Trustable Lawyer.

This is the end of your first trip in Florence, my friends. I’m looking forward to have you here again… Just be warned I am not saying you’ll like your next trip… let’s say you’ll find it * interesting *.

Come back soon!!

Interesting, next time just upload the images to our gallery instead. (under fan art).

For Odin: sorry about the accident, i needed the pics to be together with the text. Anyway I'm not doing something that heavy again.
For Lazarus Plus (and anybody else): release depends on how fast I manage to develope my scripting skills. The project won't be ready in a couple of months, anyway.

Heh heh. Actually, unless you put images between
Code:
[img][/img]
tags it doesn't really matter how big they are. But you'd be better off converting them into JPGs instead of bitmaps. Then you can send them to the Gallery and link from there.

The images are fun, but I'm under the impression that the mod is going to be rather humorous, by the names...

Convert them to .gif (will take less space and dont lose colours)

Try made more high not ruined buildings.

Sexy. However you'd be better off saving them as JPEG or PNG8 (i.e. PNG with 256 colours).

First of all BMP is not a web format and thus requires a plugin (QuickTime or similar tends to work fine). Secondly BMP is as uncompressed as it gets and thus causes unneccessarily large file sizes.

GIF wouldn't be that smart considering the compression algorithm of the file format and what the screenshots look like: GIF is better for files with a low amount of changes in colour per row of pixels, whereas screenshots have lots of different colours within the same row.
Thus a GIF variant wouldn't be considerably smaller (possibly even larger).

Thanks Ashmo, I'll try a jpeg format next time. Sorry, but before I started my project I only used my pc as a sort of playstation; I'm still learning the basics of everything which goes beyond "plug and play", so to speack.
Lich, mod's set a few months before the war, so you'll find a good number of two floored buildings. Not more than 2 anyway, I want the player to be able to enter in all of them, so I'm traying to avoid "showpieces".
Have a nice weekend, Vault dwellers.

Funny how you went from zero knowledge to modding.

At least you make a great paragon.

Well, I take my hobbies very seriously and my project was born some six months ago. I took my time...
Anyway, i'm all blushing.
