I would have considered normal for them to share a larger excitement after finally releasing their game.

Yeah I agree. I also wanna see some reviews before a purchase. It looks quite generic so wanna now if it's a good, bad or mediocre game.

It looks pretty mediocre but I'd buy it if it got down to $5. It piqued my interest and appears to be at least slightly inspired by Fallout (I saw a very ghoulish looking character). I still need to play Wasteland 2, beat XCom and both Shadowrun games, so I'm not in a huge rush.
