Fallout 001

Looks interesting. What's the point of using Fallout sprites, but not Fallout textures, though (aka, make something on the engine itself)?

I wanted to keep the graphics that will be used in the interfaces (such as weapons, windows, cursor, etc), and use custom graphics for the game. I added a few FO2 stuff on the map just for testing purposes.
I still haven't made up my mind whether I'm going for a 3d environment or keep it 2d though.

If you go 3d, maybe you can make it to where players can edit the graphics settings for those of us on lower end PCs or laptops? *please* :)

I don't think that'll be required. He's a modder, not a team of developers.

Also, thanks for the answer. This not a conversion, but a full game on its own, right?

Actually no I'm not a modder. But yes, if I go 3d it won't be something aimed at high-end PCs; I'll keep it nice and simple.
And yes, it's a game of its own. The setting should be somewhere between fallout 1 and 2. I got a map sketched too, though it's subject to change.

Looks interesting! I've liked the idea of a fan fiction set between Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 (did some writing myself), as a game it sounds even better.

Got confused by the map though. Looks like it was turned around :P

Yeah back when I was drawing the map, I forgot to rotate it back. Ended up like this. :P

So the story is something like this:
The master is destroyed and muties scattered throughout the land.
Meanwhile, there's this Vault 7, a one-level vault created right before the great war. After so many years their food supply was running out so they sent someone to the surface to look for a food source. This person eventually found vault 13 and estabilished a trade route.
Unfortunately for the vault 7 citizens, after the master's destruction, mutant raids started becoming more and more frequent, and they were forced to leave. Leaving everything behind, they went for the only place they knew: vault 13. You're one of the many citizens that were able to flee from vault 7 as the mutants were taking over.

It grew bigger.

That is a good map fix :P but one with a keen eye can see where you cut the pieces and rotated. Anyway I'll probably use the map in a different way: I'll have the clean map with the town circles, and when the player learns about them from someone or goes there, the name shows up - same fallout fashion. The names will be separate pictures that will be shown, so I can fix the map.
