Are there any documented issues caused purely by playing Fallout games on a 64-bit OS?

(Crashes, etc)

i have completed fo1-2 several times at my w7 ultimate x64 os. i haven't got any problem. but; if you don't like color problem, u must kill explorer.exe at task manager. plus, you must put fo shortcut on desktop. task manager.. you see file > run > browse > desktop > fallout shortcut. it's okay dude 8-)

There shouldn't. Microsoft gets out of their way to give legacy support for 32 bits apps.

I've been playing 1 and 2 on my 64-bit machines.
No problems after patching. Unplayable before that.

FO2 did freeze on my lap-top a few times, though. Might not be the issue with the game.

Played/finished Fallout & Fallout 2 on win7 x64 many ,many times and the only problem is the rainbow colors - 100% cure for this is DirectDraw Compatibility Tool = NO PROBLEM TO PLAY FALLOUT & FALLOUT 2 ON x64 OS.

Same here, that tool is magic.

My only frustration with the tool is the code it generates is unique to the folder path, so I can't just include the registry entry with my mod -- it must be run on the person's machine directly to get their unique file path input properly.
