Fallout 1 and 2 intro problems with sound!

It Wandered In From the Wastes
I have a problem that bugs me with Fallout 1 and 2s intros. In Fallout 2 when the intro gets to the point where the narrator is explaining what happened to the vault dweller on his return the game sound like cuts off then picks back up. Its like a start and stop.

It doesnt stop me from playing the game obviously. But it is annoying. The same thing happens in Fallout intro as well, just at a different part of the intro. The sound like stop for half a second then picks back up. Its almost like a skip. But not that messed up. It happens each time in the same two spots on both games. I think it didnt happen once, but I could be wrong.

What causes this? Is it a cheap or bad sound card? Slow HDD? Bad hardware all together? Does this mean some hardware is about to give out on me?

Also Im playing my games on an Acer apsire 3000 now. Its used. Also Im using the humongous install that doesnt require a CD. The game runs fine, except for the two screw ups in the two games intros.

My hardware is

CPU- AMD 2800+ 1.6 gig
Memory 256 meg ram
I believe the HDD is about 50+ Gig its split into two 17 gig HDDs
SIS M760GX Integrated graphics 64 meg, I have it set at 32 MB for video

If anyone has an answer then please do answer.

Also I forgot one other problem. Sometimes when I go to play Fallout1 and I click on the desktop Icon I get a warning telling me Fallout needs at least 20 Megs of free space. Its only Fallout1 that has done this so far.

Also the rest of the game sounds fine, I meant to post this in my opening. But forgot.

I can't help you with your problem, but what I can tell you is that there's an edit button on the top right of your post if you ever feel the need to add something to your original post.

Did you patch the game? Maybe play with the sound settings. I don't know, never had this happen.
