fallout 1 and 2 sound fx

First time out of the vault
i had the exact problem with fallout 1. i still haven't fixed it, though i have been working on it. i have installed fallout 2 and it's the same thing. i emailed creative, and said that (i have a dell dimension 8250) dell's soundblaster was OEM, (whatever that means) and we should download drivers from dell. i also have both patches to both games. i haven't tried dell drivers it yet, because 28.8 kps sucks. (i also have soundblaster 5.1)

ok buddy, i think i might have figured it out, although i haven't fully tested it yet. go tu run, and type in dxdiag. then once a screen comes up click on sound 1 (or sound 2 or whatever depending on which sound card you are using). then click on the little slider named hardware sound acceleration, move it from full acceleration to no acceleration. good luck! i'm gonna go test it out again as soon as i get a chance.
