Fallout 1 Black screen

Hello there. I have installed the FixIT patch and I really have enjoyed it so far but my screen keeps turning black and will only clear up when I hit F1 for the Fixit screen or character screen and it clears it up only temporarily. I have tried running it at 256 colors and on administrator and I have even disabled explorer.exe to run it without any color issues but the black screen is still a problem. Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you in advance for any replies.

Have you tried the screen refresh tool? f1_res is supposed to fix this which is why in more recent version I removed the screen refresh tool. But anyway you can get it from here:
