Fallout 1 - Can't Find Military Base (blush)

First time out of the vault
Howdy! I did try searching this topic but haven't found my answer yet.

All locations are filled in on my Pipboy, except the Military Base (I figure it must be the missing location). I'm not sure what I missed. What might have happened is early on I didn't know how to read holodisks, so maybe I missed reading one somewhere and goodness knows where it is now.

I'm fairly far along in the game. Have been to the Glow, and read all those holodisks. I've been to the Cathedral and cleared out everything above ground (killing Morpheus or whatever his name is!).

From what I can tell, it's North of the Brotherhood, and from other searches I know it's in the NW corner of the map.

Can some of you FO experts help me get the Base on my map?

This is my third time starting FO and I've never been able to complete it (the last time my PC started with about 50 blue screens of death when I was half way through, no fault of the game (bad memory) but it stopped me from completing the game, and I really want to complete this classic so I can move on to FO2.

Thank you for helping me!

You can learn the location in a computer in the [spoiler:e2a990ce66]basement levels of the cathedral[/spoiler:e2a990ce66] if I recall correctly, but [spoiler:e2a990ce66]try going to the very northwest corner of the map[/spoiler:e2a990ce66]

But don't be embarrassed, it took me a month just to find the waterchip my first time through the game

Thank you Farmerk! I did approach the lower levels of the Cathedral but held off going too far until I was more ready for it, so that likely explains why I don't have the base on my Pipboy.

Now that I am a bit stronger, I think I'll go back to the Cathedral, that must be how the folks who made the game wanted me to find out about the base.

I really appreciate the help!

No problem. On my first time through I didn't know necropolis even existed and was under the assumption that the waterchip was in the glow since the brotherhood wanted me to go there so badly and it was such a difficult place to get to and even spend time in.

After you've beaten the game a couple times and think you've done everything there is to do(which is very hard to do), I highly recommend checking out Per's Guide. It will squeeze at least another 80 hours of fun from it. And once you get to Fallout 2, your free time spent doing things other than Fallouting will turn to zero.

Don't forget that you can use skills on objects in the game
