Fallout 1 Children Patch bug ?

I'm experiencing a minor bug using the Fallout1 Children Patch. (on the 1.2 UK version)

Kids work, (hurray, finally! after all those years.) but another problem pops up : The "look at" command when used on characters doesn't return anything.

Instead of "He looks : Unhurt" // "She looks : almost dead", I just get a blank "He looks :"

This isn't really that bothersome, since getting the awareness perk seems to pretty much overwrite it with another line ("He has").
Can still be a little annoying, though.

Running on WinXP Professional, Service Pack 2, dunno what else might be useful. Not running any other patches/mods.

((Changing back to the original .exe fixes the problem, but removes the children again.))

-Gerko, not a 100% certain this is the right forum, but taking his chances anyway.

I haven't noticed this in W98SE. Could it be that there are different exe's for the DOS and Windows versions that function differently in XP?

The children patches are usually OK in the gameplay forum since in my opinion they're more "fixes" than "modifications", but I'm fine with the topic here as well.

I've just started a new game with the child patch and I've just checked, it's happening for me as well under 98SE.

For the adults that is, when I installed the child patch I made a quick run down to the Den to look at the flower child and IIRC her 'look at' was okay.
