Fallout 1 Critter stats

Fallout 1 prototypes are 4 bytes shorter than Fallout 2 prototypes. If you want to get "FUCK" to open them, all you have to do is open the prototype with a hex-editor, and add the bytes that are missing as zeros (|00 00|00 00|) at the end of the file.

After you have added these 4 bytes, you should be able to edit the prototype with "FUCK".
Not sure if extra bytes will cause problems in the game so once you have finished your editing, open the prototype with the hex editor again, and delete the bytes you added.

Thanks for the help Corpse, but i couldn't make it work. I couldn't extend the file size with the dos editor, but it didn't any good. I got an incompatibility-error. Any other idea? Or does anyone know, how to get the critter stats in an other way?

I think you have read-only attribute of critters prototype files. You should have archive attribute only of this.

Let clear read-only attribute of all proto files in proto/critters before editing (by hex-editor and mapper editor either) and after editing, see Corpse's post also, you should make read-only attribute this files again.
