Fallout 1 Frame rate and CPU issues

Werewolf1021

First time out of the vault
Hey all,

So, I recently bought the Fallout Bundle Pack from Gamefly. It was installed via Gamefly's game manager. Version says 1.2

I started to play Fallout 1 game and everything was going great, but then it started to get a little choppy, then very choppy, then practically frozen.

I used task manager to help close the program and noticed that Fallout 1 was using 97% of the CPU (!!!!). I then closed the game, restarted, and the same thing happened again exactly.

My computer specs are:

Windows 8 64-bit OS
Intel i7-3770k (Not overclocked, stock fan)
8 gigs of DDR3 Ram
Nvidia Geforce GTX 660ti graphics card

No mods are installed.

Thanks for the help,

Werewolf1021

Hmm, I don't understand at all. This is quite perplexing for such an old game on very respectable hardware. . .

Perhaps the Unofficial Patch might help?

Just tried that. No dice.

Im not sure if the 100% core is the problem or something else....
