Fallout 1 Light Weapon Tweaks

It Wandered In From the Wastes
This is a package of .PRO files for Fallout 1 which mostly change the weapon perks for the different projectile weapons.

The goal is to improve the variety among the weapon selection.

In short :

-5mm and 14mm weapons have increased penetration. I figure military-style cartridges would focus on penetration. Yes, the minigun's sudden damage increase was balanced with a rate-of-fire nerf.

-.223 weapons have better accuracy (the Sniper has the most). Those bullets are crazy fast so hitting a target should be relatively easy.

-Shotguns no longer have an accuracy bonus. Although, with their nonexistent range, you probably won't notice too much...

-Rocket Launchers are less accurate while Flamers are more accurate.

-The Laser Pistol has the same accuracy boost as its big brothers. Light Speed FTW.

-Plasma Rifles no longer have an accuracy boost. On the bright side, they still retain their attack power.

-Throwing Weapons can all reach a range of 30 with a strong enough character.

-Molotovs deal plasma splash damage (I'd make it Fire but the engine doesn't support it.)

-Spears have Throw as their primary mode. This means spear-wielding enemies will prefer ranged attacks over melee.


No, it's not a very ambitious mod. It's mostly an exercise in improving the vanilla game using a minimalist approach.
