Fallout 1; Locating Savegames / crashing issue

First time out of the vault
Hello,

Ok so I installed fallout 1 in windows vista, smallest installation because the installer would not identify the harddrives as having enough space, which they of course do. I fire it up and the game works fine for a while but when I've hit the first town and try battling the radscorpions, the game crashes as soon as my character is hit by one. I tried 1.0 and 1.1, but it does not matter.

Which made me install fallout 1 again on XP this time, humoungous installation, however, same problem occurs here. I've tried compatibility mode and it does not seem to matter. So I figured I'd reinstall but now I cannot locate my savegames from the vista tryout, as they are located on another partition. I've looked everywhere and tried searching but no, they won't show up. Where are they?

Please help me!

Thanks!

Making a manual install should work around the space problem and might work around the crash problem (or at least will indicate whether your CD is damaged). You should know this if you had read the troubleshooting sticky. Don't know about the savegames.

Thanks, I did, and as far as I understood that's just a savegame issue or so, and I couldn't really find any reason not to do a small installation. Think it would solve the crash problem? In that case all I need to do is find my old savegames.

The CD is fine, 100%.

I also searched the forum so that's that.
