Fallout 1 - version 1.2?

I only know of a version 1.02, which I think is the patch for the European version which starts at 1.01 instead of 1.0 -- or something like that.
Could be wrong.

If you have the Euro version, then odds are youll need to DL the children patch, which adds the things back to the game that the Censors removed from it.

1.2 is likley the Euro version, which has kids removed.

You'll need to get the children patch to fix that.

Wait. Does the European version start at 1.1 or 1.01?
1.1 would be sensical as the second number is traditionally the minor release, not a fraction (i.e. after 1.9 usually comes 1.10 or 1.9.1, not neccessarily 2.0 -- first value being the major version, second the minor, third the micro version, eg. for bugfixes).

That's just PLAIN STUPID! Is it so hard just to name EVERY goddamn patch they make like version 1, version 2, version 3 and so on. Would be soooo much clearer/easier for people to understand.

AFAIK the "1.2" version is just the regular 1.1 but that they included it into the release (euro version)..

No, not really.
It actually works this way:

The final release (after all testing stages are over) is 1.0.0 (or 1.0 for short).

Then a bugfix gets developed. Make this 1.0.1. Then some more bugfixes come out and collectively the new version is 1.1.0 (short 1.1).

Then, after a lot of public updates and bugfixes, they decide to do something which makes the new version incompatible with the old one. That version then becomes 2.0.0 (or 2.0 for short).

It's actually quite simple: minor fix - increase the last value by one; major fix / minor upgrade (eg. new functionality) - increase the middle value by one, reset the last value to zero; major upgrade (change of engine which makes the new version incompatible with the one before) - increase the first value by one, reset all others.

It makes a lot of sense and is easier to manage than having the version number to be some kind of obscure floating point value.

In fact, some companies use version numbers with more than three parts. Sometimes they also list the build (i.e. the exact number of times the program has been compiled so far OR the date on which it was compiled as timestamp), eg. 1.0.0.1 build 351 or 1.0.2.0.1 build 20040802.

The three values kind of versions is the most common and least complex one. Usually people start counting at 1.0.0 or 0.0.0, although "Version 0.0" usually doesn't actually exist.

I forgot I'm talking to someone who has a anti-nationalist picture of Conan O'Brian as his avatar image.

Am I the only one that owns 1.2 european version with childrens :?:

It came with the "Incite Pc-games" magazine or something like that. It also uses a little differend fonts than the regular version. Bad thing is that it doesn´t play the "Maybe" song, just a Glow music instead. Maybe, because the cd has a small scratch, but it could be also intentional.

EDIT: Could I rip somehow the children graphics/dialogs out of it and make a patch?

Nah Psycho, it's just me.

Ashmo, take a look at your avatar before you say anything. Friggin' Jerry.

Someone (Celestial perhaps) told me about the magazine version with the Glow music, but didn't mention any children.
