I think Interplay should have released an expansion pack for Fallout or Fallout 2. It probably would be a little late to do it now, though, but it could still be done. If nothing else it would show the people of forums like these, that they are dedicated to making another Fallout RPG. Maybe to get people interested in the Fallout Universe again before they release Fallout 3, they would release a small expansion pack for Fallout 2. Set up a story line on the East Coast or Canada, just to whet our appetites for Fallout 3. Or maybe this is the purpose for Fallout Tactics: BOS? Does anybody think I could be right this time?

Neither of the previous games were designed to be expandable, so an expansion pack would be impossible to implement well.

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Oct-12-00 AT 07:34AM (GMT)[p]Well, Fallout 2 is in a way an expansion of Fallout, because it is based entirely on the Fallout engine, they just tweaked it and gave it some new items, weapons etc.. a new story and voila....you had Fallout 2....
But this is something the modders are working on, they're currently making utils to make "Fallout 2.5".
Don't get me wrong, i would also like to see an expansion of Fallout. But think about how long it would take to make this, Fallout 2 took almost a year to make. With this in mind, the engine would be totally outdated if Interplay started to make an expansion to Fallout 2 (for instance)...
Remember Interplay also aim to make money of this, not just to please us..

i don`t think it would take too long to make an expansion pack, and they should have done it a long time ago (and afterwards sell every fallout game in a fallout universe pack).
it`s a marketing thing that they sould have thought a long time ago, now tactics will probably have the function of trying to bring the old fallout players again to the wasteland, and bring some new one`s.
but... well, just read what i posted today in your "fallout3 idea list" discussion...

Actually fallout 2 was designed in a way that an expansion pack could be added. They said something about it in the offical FAQ. Too bad they never decided to do one though as I feel now FO tactics is indevelopment it's too late.
