Fallout 2, ammo issue

Havlo22

First time out of the vault
I can't split up ammo when I buy it. It sometimes shows the "how much" screen, but the numbers only go up to four. It doesn't matter what you enter, it'll just end up giving you a random number of ammo.

I have the patches installed (and KillerAps new one). I installed Killers in the hopes that it would fix this.

What's the deal?

I think you've assumed ammo comes singlely. It comes in packs of 24 for 10mm, 50 or so for 5.56mm (i think) and 10 or so for shottys. Apart from the 10mm those are just guestimates so don't quote me on this. But yeah, you can only trade in batches.

You can't split them up at all? I could of swore that I use to be able to.

So, those numbers I mentioned just mean how many "batches" you're trading?

ammo comes in batches. 10mm in 24 a piece, .223 in 50 a piece, 5mm in 50 a piece & so on & so forth.

whenever there is a batch that cant be divided, the top batch will be the leftovers.

is you have 49 10mm rounds, and take 1 stack you'll have 1 bullet, take 2 stacks you'll have 25 bullets, take 3 stacks you'll have 49.

comprende?

Deal is: You will be buttraped by a rabid molerat if you don't read the forum descriptions.

Post in the Modding forum if you've modified your game in any way other than official patches.

Mmyeah, thought about the same, but then again, he had the problem prior to installing Killap's patch.

I did read the rules dude. I had the "problem" before installing the patch. My installing the patch was a product of my thinking there was a problem, which there isn't.

Now who's gonna get butt raped by a mole rat, huh? HUH? What now? Ooooooh.

:P

Heh. The only problem is: Rules say you post in the Modding forum, if you've applied the unofficial patch.

If you are posting about an issue that's in the official version, post it in this forum, and don't mention the unofficial patches, because some newbie is likely to post "i hev the killar patch too but id doesnt help screen goes all black lol helpzors." thinking it's allowed.

It's just a bit of information that's quite unneccesary.

I hope this clears things up. If this thread was outright wrong it'd be in the Vats anyway ;)

And no, I'm not going to kick this guy: He has his points, I have mine, I think it's all made clear now.

The topic creator's problem is more relevent to the unpatched game than a modded version. And, after solving his problem, that was the case.

In hindsight, yes. That's not the point, though, because there's no way of knowing that before the issue is fixed. And because we hate playing 20 questions and trying to fix something that is unfixable because we don't have all the info, we require people to post in the right forum.
