Fallout 2 and WindowsXP

First time out of the vault
Hello, assorted Fallout fans. I am here seeking advice on a problem I'm having with Fallout 2 on WindowsXP. Whenever I try to run the game, it tells me that the CD is required to play, despite the fact that the CD is in the drive, my drive is working fine, and the CD is not damaged in any way. I have tried assorted things (pissing about copying files back and forth and messing with the config file, making a copy of the Fallout 2 CD and trying to run from that and all the different compatability modes) but to no avail. Anyone here know how I could fix this problem?

The only time i`ve heard of that problem was with people that didn`t made the full install. If that`s the case, go on and do it, if not i have no precedent to help you, sorry.

ahhh, thats the same problem that i had when trying to run Gansters Organized crime under XP. I never did get that game to run on my PC. But if i remember there isn't a small medium or large instalation just an instalation.

Tried the full install. Still insists on the CD.

Also, bizarrely, my friend can get my Fallout 2 disk to run on his machine.

I got same problem mate, nothing I've tried can make it work!

Just so you know you're not suffering alone.
