Fallout 2 ''Ask Me About'' Mod

Fallout 1's ''Ask Me About'' button was very helpful when I didn't understand who a person was, or what a term meant. When I played Fallout 2 for the first time I was shocked to find out there was no ''Ask Me About'' Button. That's why I've decided to make a ''Ask Me About'' button for Fallout 2, and I know someone will post

which sometimes it was, but most of the time if you didn't know something the NPC brought up it was generally helpful 80% of the time. Anyway, thank-you all for reading this please post any ideas or suggestions about this mod here.
 
"ask me about" button wasn't pointless. i think it adds some extra taste to the game. i didn't need it while i was playing but you can get more information from the npcs by using this feature. but as i said, it's not a vital thing and also you can get the info by evaluating the dialogs of the npcs.

You should talk to Sduibek who is porting Fallout 1 into Fallout 2 engine. AFAIK, he was struggling with the Ask Me About button missing from F2, so if you two could join forces to bring that option back, I'm sure the community would be very grateful.

It was a really nice old school feature. It added mystery (until you went and read the MSGs). There are very few ask me about lines to use in F2, so you would have to create your own from other canonical sources. Good luck!
 
When I replayed Fallout 1 last time after not playing it for several years, I was surprised how much I liked the "Ask Me About" button. It's great. It could be used to great effect with a little planning.

Tangent: someone (I forget who, but possibly an NMAer) over at the Wasteland 2 forum was suggesting the idea of implementing a full-bodied, old-school parser in dialogue mode. I love that idea.
