Fallout 2 - Cant get books from Information Center

I used the Search function but i couldn't find what I am looking for as it gave me a shitloads of terms that were different of what I gave as input.

I wonder why I cant get those two boks "Deans Elecronics" and Big Book of Science" from the Information Center in Vault City. I have read in a fallout guide that you need INT 7 or the Comprehension Perk.

My character has INT 7 and CHARISMA 6 but i couldn't get those.

Did you use the correct dialogue options? Goes something like "Are all the books being transcribed?" and "Shame, I like a good book".

sure i did. is not my first time playing the game. that's why i wonder what is wrong.

Do you have any mod installed?

i never play with mods, as I always like to play games "as they are", as long as they work as intended. I have only the US patch 1.02 and the children files.
