Fallout 2 Color Problems

After intro movies nothing happens and all colors are messed up (i see only "afterimage" of the last intro movie)
I have tried a wide variety of things, but cannot seem to find a way to correct this problem. I am running XP home.I have tried installing sfall as well as the unofficial patch. I also tried just putting ddraw.dll, installing the high-res mod, and using compatibility mode. Also, but I , I downloaded the game from Good Old Games, so I don't have a disk for it.Please help!

Colours usually mess up when you alt+tab into Windows and forth. You could try bringing up Task Manager and disabling non-essential processes(anything that Windows will let you) like indexing agents, control doohikeys, notifiers etc...

I realized I didn't have the latest drivers for my graphics card, so I got those and now it runs like a dream! I'm enjoying the terrorizing of Klamath now!
