Hi guys, hope this is the right place to post this* (new here).
I recently picked up fallout 2 from GOG and have installed the most recent version of the Restoration Project. Probably played for about 10-15 hours now but then one of my save slots became corrupt, and I could no longer load from it or save over it (which sucks because it is my most recent save in a long time). That's fine, I continued from a past save. 10 minutes later I saved on a new slot before entering combat but ended up needing to reload my game - now THIS save slot is corrupt.
Each time I attempt to load from a corrupt save slot, it just sends me back to the main menu or closes the game completely. All of my save slots are slowly becoming corrupted, and I can't find any solutions online - so here I am
I don't really want to start all the way at the beginning again, this is my first ever time playing fallout 2 (yes, I'm late, I know). From what I saw in old threads on other forums, fresh installs have had zero success on solving this issue (I'll try it though tomorrow)
any suggestions on how to restore my old saves as well as un-corrupt my save slots? What specific information do you need me to post? (I'm on Win7, 64bit - most recent version of the RP as mentioned above, all drivers up-to-date)
*The reason I posted here and not the modding forum was because the past threads I found on the corrupt save issue weren't using any unofficial patches so I wasn't sure
