Fallout 2 corruption/error after killing Horrigan.

First time out of the vault
So after killing Horrigan I have no choice but to leave the Oil Rig as it is about to explode. The problem is when ever I walk outside those doors the cutscene of the rig blowing up shows up. When the oil rig blows up in the cutscene I get an application error 100% of time time. This does not happen at random like so many errors I got, it's preventing me from actually beating the game and see the full ending. I've replicated this many times and so far each time gave me an application error. Just to be clear, I do not get the application error when I run out of time and and explode with the oil rig in the cut scene. I only get the application error when I walk outside before the timer is over

-edit- I just found out this only happens after Horrigan has been killed. I've killed Horrigan over 4 times now and as soon as he dies my save becomes corrupted. I can no longer use the file. If I load the save file it will say "can not load file." The file stops becoming corrupted if I overwrite it with a non corrupted save. However doing that will still not prevent this horrible glitch after Horrigan's death and letting me achieve my ending.
 
So no one at all can help me? I've been playing this game for awhile and now the game itself will not let me beat it.
 
The corruption of the save file starts when Horrigan is dead which prevents me from saving or reloading the file. The game will crash with an application error by the monologue right after explosion starts.
