Fallout 2 Ending messed up - fix?

I just finished Fallout 2 (GREAT Game!) but the ending is totally screwed up.
I get half of the Arrayo/vault 13 message and then a bunch of pictures flashes by with a word here and a word there and then it's just the credits.
Damn! I really want to see the entire ending! It was so satisfying in Fallout 1 ending.

Is there a fix for this problem?

If you own a pirated copy, no.
If you are on WinXP, running it in Win98 compatibility mode OR not running it in compatibility mode, might work.

No actually it's retail. My friend has 1&2 as some "best buy" or something that I've borrowed.

It is XP. I'll try the compatibility mode and see if that works.

you might also try to change the sound acceleration in directx ...I think that should work, also download ALL the latest patches (and the service pack if there is one for xp) for winxp.

I have win2k and I had the same problem, but when I downloaded all the lates patches and the service pack, now I dont even need to change teh sound acceleration

The compatability mode did not work

I have XP with the SP1.
I don't know how to change the directX-settings. How do I do that?
Oh, and I'm running the 1.02 US patch.
Any tips appreciated!

Start->Run->Dxdiag
It should open up DirectX Diagnostics, select the sound tab and change the hardware acceleration setting.
Doign the same for video settings might do the trick as well.

I change both sound and video settings to no acceleration and I got to view the ending without any problems.
