Fallout 2 find johny quest bugged

Hello,

Straight to the point,

Went to modoc. Done everything, except johny' quest without talking to barthas at all. Now when I'm talking to him, I can say that johny is with the slags and that I'm working to get him out of there. The quest doesn't get triggered.

Slug leader just thanks me and johny has only the pedo dialogue.

If I assassinate johny I can start the quest from Barthas, it has the correct initial dialogue to find him. The quest ends when he receives the BB gun.

I've tried to "fix" that with the save editor but proved kinda difficult, if doable at all.

Does anyone has any idea how to reset/start this quest through the save editor?

I think you just have to set global variable 693 to 1 and then talk to Balthas.

If that don't work you can download a fixed Balthas script. Just search my posts for 'Johnny' and you should find it.

Thanks a lot Darek. Always nice knowing that whenever I run into a totally random obscure problem with Fallout 2 or the RP during the umpteenth playthrough that a search of the NMA forums yields the solution.
