Fallout 2 Game Crash

I have a problem with the game crashing randomly after dialogue. It doesn't happen every time, but when it does, I have to manually shut down my computer and reboot. Here are my computer specs, roughly.

3 Ghz Processor
1 GB Memory
512 MB Video Card
Windows XP 64

I looked through the forum and couldn't find any similar situations. Also, this has only happened with a male main so far - I had a game before this where I didn't have any problems at all.

Have you tried reinstalling?

Tried that. Looked like it worked for a while, but then it crashed mid-dialogue.

What patch are you using? I assume latest official version?

Latest patch for most of the relevant time, yes.
