Fallout 2 giving me problems

Orest1s94

First time out of the vault
so, i bought the Fallout Collection (DVD) version of the 1st fallout games. Fallout 1 worked fine with some patching. Fallout tactics...keeped asking me for a CD but i fixed it with a crack (yeah i was to lazy to try find what the heck is wrong :P) . now the problem.
Fallout 2!!! without any patch, except for having quite a lot of bugs, has a REEEEALY SLOOOW speed on fast travel/world map. (Arroyo-Klamath took me like...10+secs?!?)now, with 1.02 nothing really changes (if the speed changed i'd still get another patch for the bugs tho). with 1.04, 1.05 the game keeps asking me for a CD 0_o what the heck? i tried getting 1.051 and the game run but it's like it's completely unpatched (i got spammed with Graphic Glitches xD). so could someone help me? and tell me what patches should i get (and how should i install them, meaning something like "1st aply 1.02 then aply 1.04 etc. etc." cause something tells me i'm missing something...) any help would be great :)

Here's all that you need to do:

1. Uninstall the game and make sure no files were left behind.
2. Reinstall doing a humongous install.
3. Install the unofficial patch from my signature.
4. Don't install anything else.
5. Adjust the worldmap travel speed in ddraw.ini as you see fit.

Also, wrong board for this. Moving now...

Thanks mate! it works perfectly now! world map speed is more than just good, no glitches/graphic problems! :D now i have another little problem (well, actually there are two but i don't care that much about the second) i can't raise the resolution! (i'm trying to get it to 800x600 :P) i'm messing with the file to change settings and stuff just like you said but i'm probably doing something wrong with the resolution... :/
the second problem is the music. i don't have any! (just music all other sounds are fine) but since i almost always hear my own music while playing it's not that much of a prblem :)
Also. sorry for posting this in the wrong place. i'm new here but i will learn :)

Raise the resolution in-game. Just go to options and click the SCRN button.

Look at the music paths in fallout2.cfg (file in your main Fallout2 directory). If you you did a humongous install (which you should have) make sure they point to 'data\sound\music'. Also make sure you have the actual sound files there. If you didn't do a humongous install, then you'll need the CD to play. fallout2.cfg will also need to point to the music directory on the CD if you went this route.
