Fallout 2 gog version not working with restoration pack

I installed clean, no save games, and no other mods. The main menu shows these versions:

F2 1.02.27.3
RP 2.1.2b
Sfall 2.12a

But when I start a new game, there is no rock, and it looks exactly the same as before I installed. I can change the resolution, and have the race editor in the character creation. And I've looked all over the forums and can't find a problem similar to this one, any ideas? I have windows 7 64 bit, with a dual core amd.

The sfall's configuration file was overwritten, I presume.
Do not install the sfall over the RP, it's not necessary.
(read the readme file and follow the installation instructions)

siryuck - you didnt read the the 1st post of the RP or Patch, you dont need to install the patch if you are going to install the RP, the fixes are already inside and no need to install sfall either.

Hm, maybe the gog version is pre-patched?
Also the 2.12a version of sfall is already included in RP 2.1.2b, as I see now.
Siryuck, another idea: try to avoid an installation into a "Program Files" directory, if you did it so; UAC protection might to cause a similar problem too.

I figured it out, I had uninstalled the past fallout 2 and save games, but it had not removed the old mods. So it was just old vs new conflicting. thanks for the help though.

And also just fyi the gog version is prepatched, and sfall is included in the rp.
