Fallout 2 graphics issues

I searched the forum and didn't find anything directly addressing my specific problem.

When I run Fallout 2, it seems to work okay save for rainbow-colored pixels interespersed with the graphics. This is particularly strong in some movies, which are all dotted pixels and no graphics. I've tried lowering the resolution to the lowest possible (800 X 600, 16 bit). My computer specs are:

Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 2002
Intel Celeron 2.80GHz
2.80 GHz, 248 MB of RAM
Intel (R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller

I've tried reading stickies for various solutions.
Why don't other people do that?
 
Use Ctrl+Alt+Delete and kill of ANY AND ALL programs in the backgound that you do not need. (Processes tab).
