Fallout 2 Guns Not Working

Hi all I'm new here; I hope someone didn't already post this topic (I did check first). Any way, after killing Frog Morton in Redding I took his G11. Much to my chagrin, I couldn't use it. I couldn't reload it. In the item slot there was the just the picture of the G11, nothing about AP cost or fire mode. This has now happened to other guns since then. I've been playing Fallout and Fallout 2 for years now, and this has never happened to me before. Can anyone please help me?

Is one (or both) of your arms broken?... it can happen in this case.
 
No...Both arms are fine. It's not that at all. The item slot shows NOTHING BUT the gun. Nothing about AP cost,and nothing about firing mode. Just the gun.
 
That's exactly how it'd look like if you had a crippled arm. Or maybe if you had leftover mod files in your install.
 
Really? I guess I forgot. I guess it's been awhile since I had a crippled arm, but I digress; I did recheck, and I wasn't crippled. I uninstalled and then reinstalled my game, and now it's working okay. I hope it doesn't happen again. I've never downloaded mods for FO or FO2, so I have no idea what the problem was. Thanks for the input guys.

The most likely cause was then a corrupted file system/hard drive sector.
So you might want to check your hard drive for errors.
