So done every available quest around den and klamoth and tryin to get to vault city. I am lvl 5 have vic and sulek, and good god do I get ambushed hard on the way. Like groups of 10 bandits all who seem to have ipecable aim and after one round of them I am basical dead. have the restoration patch installed. was it always this tough?

Something I learned recently, there’s actually a group of tiles called “Bandit’s Pass” between the Den and Vault City, which is what we usually run into and why there’s so many raiders. You’ve got to go north a bit and then east. There’s still a chance to run into raiders along the “Den - Modoc - Vault City - Redding trade route”, but you’re far more likely to run into a peaceful caravan.

Yeah, me neither. When playing with the Restoration Project I thought the encounter rate was just bumped up in general. Good to know it's that particular area. Grueling indeed.
