Fallout 2: I set a bad resolution and the game wont open now.

First time out of the vault
(Note: I have the Steam version of Fallout 2)
Okay, so I was about to start Fallout 2 for the first time, but I tried to find a better resolution than 640 x 400 or whatever it automatically starts at.

So, being the idiot that I occasionally am, I put in 1600 x 768 (this isn't my computer's resolution) into the custom resolution thing. When I clicked apply, the game froze, and I had to restart my computer to get rid of it, as I couldn't access the task manager due to the frozen game being over it.

I tried playing the game, but it gave me an error message basically saying that the resolution was (note that this is after pressing play on the box that opens after launching the application)

The first thing I did was verify the integrity of the game cache, which didn't fix it.
So I proceeded to uninstall the game, turn off Steam cloud sync for the game, and reinstall the game on Steam, which didn't fix it.
So I went to Fallout 2's file folder in steam, and deleted everything outside of the folders, and verified the game cache, which didn't fix it (I was thinking that maybe the new files wouldn't have the 1600 x 768 setting in it).
I then deleted everything inside Fallout 2's folder, including the folders inside of it, in a sense uninstalling it, then verifying the cache again to add new files back, but of course, that didn't work.
So, again, I uninstalled it again, restarted my computer, and reinstalled it. This didn't work either.
I tried using "Set Launch Options" on Steam to set the resolution out of game, but that didn't work.

What do I do?

Through certain means, I was able to narrow the resolution setting's location down to the master.dat file. Obviously, the game won't work without this file (don't ask me to try, because I did), and I cannot edit it in any way.
I have Fallout 2 on my laptop, as well, so I tried to copy its master.dat file and bring it to my desktop via OneDrive (both are Windows 8.1). So far, I've had no luck.
EDIT: I just tried moving it with a USB instead. Still no luck, unfortunately.
EDIT 2: I had the idea of using Steam's backup and restore feature by backing up the stuff on my laptop (which does work), porting it to my Desktop, and restoring it. Of course, that didn't work either.

WELL, I found it on my own.
I gave up after a bit and began running all the files in the Fallout 2 steam folder. There was one called "f2_res_Config" which I overlooked due to being unobservant.
Hallelujah!
