Fallout 2 is ruining my computer

Jarv

First time out of the vault
I just received my copy of Fallout 2 in the mail today, eagerly installed it, and started it up. I'm running Windows 7. There was some color distortion, but everything was fine until I got into the game's first battle when it promptly froze. I was forced to restart my computer, and when it booted back up everything was zoomed in and the colors were heavily distorted.

Now my computer looks like this: http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/OngarTheWeary/No.png?t=1278527389

I've tried everything I can think of to fix it. But no luck. It's driving me mad. Any solutions?

It looks, like your desktop settings was changed. Reboot in the safe mode and set proper resolution + colour depth. (or try the right mouse button, maybe you can set new parameters without running the safe mode)

Did you install any mods, or clean Fallout only?

Well, don't I feel like a dolt. That worked like a charm. I guess my computer illiteracy is showing.

Thanks a ton!
