Fallout 2 - Killap's Unofficial patch 64 bit

Nevermind, problem solved. It works if you run it in win 95 compatibilty mode and run as admin
:)

Thanks anyway

i am working on Win7 64bit no computability no admin and it works perfectly.

i only had to use sfall and change 2 settings.

I never tried the self install version, so that may have worked. However, you guys are running win7 and usually win7>vista :D

Im duel booting with XP and windows 7, I haven't tried vista, but there so much bad hype about it, I thought better to skip it, not sure, but the service packs I think have improved it in bits, but most people seem to have skipped it and went onto 7,

7 is a great OS, win 7 > XP + vista

I rarely use XP anymore, getting a new system soon, intel I5 based, then I probably won't bother to install XP anytime soon, as 7 has been hooked

so yeah great OS, and the 64bit version hasn't been too bad either

Hi there,

This version doesn't appear to work on Vista 64 bit. Is there a 64 bit version or a way to make that version work on 64 bit vista?

Thanks

Just switch to Win 7 ;)

Also, shouldnt it work if u run it in Win 98 compatibility mode? I mean, why go lower if it works for 98?

In what way doesn't it work? You mean the installer won't run?

try running the setup file direct rather then auto booting, you may get rainbow colours, but once you got the thing installed, go into options then at the top of it, there is sfall, / high res button, go to the sfall tab, and enable full screen, (the high def tab will no longer work) but reboot, and the game will run fine in normal colours, but the game should install even if it looks funny, as the game uses 16bit graphics, which vista and 7 doesn't really support, (but there are workarounds) but with sfall enabled when you have the game running is the best thing,

if the game still doesn't install, try the setup in compatibly modes, and reduce it to 256 colours,, but again, double click the setup file directly in the disk, (if your copy is the original copy) other versions, I don't know

just? as in spend a lot of money or other kind of just ...

Tisk tisk, no illegal talks on this site (especially Microsoft concerned). How u deal with the "just" is totally up to u... I, of course, have to say go for the legal way. ur old enough to reject my reccomendation if u want, but keep it to urself ;)

Yeah, the installer wouldn't run.

I forget the exact error message now, but it was something along these lines -

"This file is not compatible with your version of windows. Check to see whether you're using 32 or 64 bit windows and speak to the file's publisher"

Simply changing to windows 95 compat mode and running as admin made it work :)
