Fallout 2 Macintosh Minor Graphical Error

Takahiro

First time out of the vault
I just installed FO2 on my laptop, and have noticed a small problem. There's a black square which stays black throughout gameplay. I tried to take a picture of it, but no luck. The best I can do is say that it appears right over the O in Load Game at the first screen. I installed the latest patch from MacPlay, but that didn't fix it.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? It's easy enough to work around, but if there's a fix out there, I'd like to get my hands on it.

Once again, Macintosh version.

Same Bad Data Problem?

Same Bad Data Problem?

Read PulpX's , et al, problem in thread: ''Combat Control for FO2 on OS X''. http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17880

Takahiro appears you are describing a missing panel part on the Load Option / New Game Screen, right?

Page 2 of the above sighted thread: Ximenez substitutes the proper PC data file into the relevant Mac Library folder. chubbykipper says it worked for his panel interface problem.

.................................

I have had very few OS issues with OS 10, so my file delving and scripting the OS are nil. AND, ~/Library/Application Support/Fallout2 is the folder that the screenshots go! I was trying to see when Sulik's eyes changed from measuring guarded slits to wide open, blue eyed, wonder. The PC version dumps screen saves to the FO2 folder, was running a parallel "jinxed" character so used those for my talking head research.

Well, you can lend him the money to pay off his debt, or gain a karma of 240 or better, to gain Sulik's unguarded gaze. Use to credit it to kicking the slavers in Den.

Anyway, I have a 1 GHz 15 inch Powerbook and recall no serious graphic errors, and the only NPC error seems in the interface, healing Cassidy with stimpack in player inventory, brings up the talk screen in my most recent run through of FO2. Do not recall seeing this before. Stimpack in hand heals as expected.

There are files to manipulate, if one chooses to look. I am soon to motivated to find the save files to archive past run through, with out dragging 5 or 6 hundred megs to a cheap CD burn. Lazy is as lazy does.

Don't know if you want to save your FO2 files and try this exploratory correction, maybe interesting to - see - how much 'Unix' {Universal} is Mac OS 10, with out touching anything, just look. If it's only on one screen, just live with it.
