Fallout 2 - No music.. Help!

Syphina

First time out of the vault
I installed Fallout 2 recently, and for some odd reason there's no music whatsoever. I tried installing the version 1.2 Patch (US). I don't know if that screwed it up or not.. so I uninstalled, deleted the Black Isle folder then reinstalled Fallout 2.. Then I had the same problem, even without the patch.

So I didn't hear any music on the main screen, in Arroyo, or on the world map...

I believe music is a big part of the game.. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why don't people read stickies, or search these forums?
Yes, I'm a broken record.

Disable hardware sound acceleration in DirectX.

Thank you so much. I hate to sound clueless, but where do I go to disable it? I haven't had to change anything for Direct X before.

I appreciate the help.

I appreciate the help.

1. Go to start menu.
2. Go to run.
3. Type in dxdiag
4. Go to the sound tab.
5. Move the bar for hardware acceleration all the way to the left.

Also, if this doesn't fix the problem, you may have to edit something in your Fallout2.cfg file. Again, the sticky is your friend here.

Thanks for the help.. unfortunately it didn't work :(

I just tried the other method.. Changing the music path for music path 1 in the Fallout2.cfg file. It seems to be working so far, the music at the title screen seems to stutter occasionally though, I don't know if that's a problem or not.

There's also a music path 2 and I don't know if that needs to be changed to the same directory as well.
