Fallout 2 patch installation help

First time out of the vault
I'm trying to install the mapper limit patch in fallout 2, but whenever i try to extract the files it says "unspecified error." Thanks in advance to whoever can help me.


EDIT: This is an unofficial patch, can a moderator please move this?
 
Firsties, get WinRar, you can download it for free (make sure you pick 64 bit or 32 depending on the pc). Install it, then when the shortcut for it is made on the desktop, right click it, go to properties, then compatibility and run as administrator. Then download you patch clicking to see it in its downloaded folder and copy and paste it to the Fallout 2 folder (inside the blackisle folder ect and make sure the file goes into the folder). Then right click the patch in the Fallout 2 folder and click extract here saying "yes to all" when prompted, and it's patched!

P.S run your fallout 1 or 2 game as an administrator as well
