fallout 2 RP 2.1.2b compatibility windows 7

First time out of the vault
Hi everyone ! I follow this forum since 2007 and I've never posted anything because of my very bad english (I'm a french from france with frogs fromage baguette croissant etcetera...).

Well, let's try to be "understandable" (if this term exist) :

Recently, i've bought (for the third time) fallout 1 and 2 via GOG.com, I juste wanted to make a re-run marathon of F1, F2 and FNV, with all the best patchs/mod/DLC.

I've downloaded fallout FIXT and it works pretty well. My problem comes from the Restoration project of fallout 2 (v2.1.2b). I didn't tried to install other modes, I've instlalled the directory of fallout 2 in a place other than the program files directory (as recommended) and even changed the mode for Graphics (0 to 4) in the ddraw.ini (as recommended (again) for the windows 7 users)... BUT ! It's still doesen't want to work. I keep seeing the same error message popping on each launch : "Fallout seems to be running on compatibility mode" and then nothing. I've tried to change the option of compatibility in the propriety menu of the .exe (multiple times) but nothing more (except when i use use windows 95 and it's say more stuff even less comprehensible...).

So, in conclusion, i'm a dick in programming, I don't understand how PC works and I'm french on top of that. Please help me.

PS : The version I use for fallout 1 and 2 (even NV) are entierely english.

Viva la France!
Have you tried to disable the compatibility mode completely? Otherwise sfall won't work.

Yeah, I tried (an re-tried (just now). The same error message appears. I'm sure I'm missing something... The modded/patched version of fallout 1 works perfecty, so why Fallout 2 doesen't even launch ?

Altough, I'm pretty sure this come from the RP 2.1.2b, the game can launch without it, but I really want to use it.

EDIT :

Problem solved ! It seems that windows needed some forcing to open the game in 8 bit colors. I've changed the setting in the prefference and everything went back to normal. So, just in case for those who might fall in the same trap : ->>Right click on the .exe ->> Solve the compatibility problem ->> and force your way out of this (myself, I can't remember what I did after that but it worked in the end). :)

The problem just came from my lack of experience with windows 7, that's all.
