Fallout 2 running extremely slow

Hey..

My F2 is running really slow and I dont know why.. loading a savegame takes up to 4 minutes. I have patched it to 1.02.
My specs are:
P3 1ghz
256mb ram
geforce2 mx 32mb

any ideas?
 
Yeah, uninstall (back up your saves first!)

Then do a LARGE install (not a HUMONGOUS install)

Then patch it to the latest version (1.02d?)

Then copy your MASTER.DAT file from the root directory of your Fallout 2 CD to C:\Program Files\BlackIsle\Fallout2\ or wherever the game got installed.

Then edit your fallout2.cfg file and change the following under [system] :

master_dat=D:\

to

master_dat=C:\Program Files\BlackIsle\Fallout2\master.dat

(or wherever your game got installed)

And that's it.

Your load times should be measured in seconds rather than minutes.
