Fallout 2 San Francisco crashes at Chinatown

Help! I have a problem in San Francisco where whenever I enter Chinatown, the game crashes. I can enter all the other areas in San Francisco, but Chinatown crashes on entrance. I'm on the Steam version for Windows 7 64bit, and I haven't installed any patches. How do I fix this?
 
Ok, I admit I did hoard a ton of quest items in my Car trunk. I dropped all of it in a random spot in the wasteland. Will this help any?
 
Not that hard to fix really. Download the too many items bug fix here.
That will fix any map that you may have 'broken', but if you don't get rid of some stuff the maps will start to bug out again.
Also, it's not really a question of too many items, just too many items with scripts attached to them. They are not very many, you can find a list of them here.

You really should patch your game to avoid these kind of things in the future.
 
Ok, um, so which do I download and how exactly do I install it?

And yeah, I kept basically all of the scripted items I found in my trunk. I dunno why, I usually keep all my unique items in RPGs. :(
 
Nevermind! I figured it out. Thanks! It worked perfectly and I can now enter Chinatown without any crashes. Thanks. :)
