This level has been bugging me for months. I've tried to get through the bottom of the tanker dozens of times without success. I have to install the NavCom parts, but the aliens all stop from me from doing so. I've tried using the combat shotgun, the plasma rifle, the plasma pistol, and the super sledge. I have Enclave Power Armor, which isn't blocking much of the damage. Any tips?

I think the aliens are resistant to plasma damage. Try fire or electricity, or just gauss weapons.

Your best bet is Gauss weapons.
Use the stairs, not the ladder – just to give yourself some space to play with, and use a rocket launcher with explosive rockets. I hope you have some skills with big guns. The bozar is also an excellent alien remover. Hit the suckers and if they get too close run up the stairs, then come down the ladder and repeat. You will probably have enough space between you and the critters to slowly wipe them out without suffering too much damage yourself. Just don’t get surrounded on all sides, otherwise your dead meat…is this a solo game or do you have NPC’s tagging along?
