Fallout 2 weapons hidden characteristic thread

It Wandered In From the Wastes
Hello guys. A little help here. I have looked everywhere for days to try to find everything there is to know about hidden weapon characteristics in fallout 2 and just have not been able to find certain answers. I found no thread dedicated to this subject anywhere, on any forum. So I though while asking this, I might as well create a dedicated topic to it so that all relevant answers and info can be posted in one place for the benefit of all visitors with the same question.

I have already discovered the Weapon Perks information at the link noted below, which explains various hidden characteristics. (BTW can someone confirm that everything on this page is actually accurate?)
link: fallout "dot" gamepedia "dot" com "slash" Weapon_perk (sorry about my link presentation, this is my first post and the forum is now allowing me to post a link, I'll correct it later)

But a few unanswered question that I have:

1. Do different weapons have additional hidden critical chance effects innate to the weapon itself? Which weapons? What is the number.

2. The page says that the Weapon Penetrate perk applies to Damage Threshold (-80%), but on another page I read that it applies to Damage Resistance too! So what is the correct information?

3. Does any weapon have additional effects other than the weapon perks already denoted that affect their accuracy or range, either in "straight shot" or "aimed shot".

4. Is there any weapon that if you "aim" it suddenly acts differently than the previous information would account for?

Thanks guys for your help.

Cyrus, please ask questions about modding Fallout 1 or 2 in the Fallout General Modding forum.

1. All melee attacks (unarmed or melee weapons) gain a +5% critical chance. Aside from that, there are no weapons that have a particularly high or low critical chance.

2. The Penetrate perk divides Damage Threshold by 5.

3. No, but aiming attacks at body parts increases the critical chance. The increase depends on the body part, for eyes I believe it is +40%. Burst weapons generally have lower range in burst mode vs single, but not always (whether they do or not is specified in their proto file). Neither accuracy nor damage is affected by aiming or changing to burst mode.

4. No. The only weapon that has "magic" behavior is the Molotov Cocktail, it is hardcoded to cause the "burning to death" animation even though it does Explode damage, not fire. But there are ways around that.

Great, thank you Magnus.

I thought this wasn't a modding question and I didn't wanna fill the Modding section a non-modding question! I was trying to be proper! lol. Sorry about post in wrong forum then. Moderator feel free to move thead.
