Fallout 2's Flick

xixTaurum

First time out of the vault
I'm pretty sure Flick was supposed to give about 200x 223. fmj, 200x shotgun shells, some .44 bullets, a rifle, a shotgun and all that. But my Flick just dropped no rifle and very few ammo, about 50x of each after killing him. Isn't he supposed to drop some more stuff, am I missing something?

Merchants and other NPC's that stock many different items, usually have multiple inventories, most of which are inaccessible (I saw a player opening one in Broken Hills once, in the internet, but it's an exploit, it's not supposed to be opened by players).

The NPC script takes the items from a hidden footlocker (or other type of container), so that they're available in the trade screen, when the player asks the NPC to show what they're selling.
If the script only used the critter's inventory, the developers would need to create an invisible barrier to stop players from simply stealing all the items of the shopkeeper, pulling things from his pockets.

Maybe the rifle and other stuff you mentioned, is being stored in one of these containers, so when you steal Flick's corpse, they're not appearing for you. I haven't edited that script and I'm not killap, so I can't say if that's the case.

Per Jorner's walkthrough notes:
"Usually when you kill a shopkeeper, their inventory appears on their corpse even if you couldn't steal it off them previously, but not always. Of course, if you kill Maida Buckner or Sajag you'll have to fight the rest of Klamath as well."

Dunno if this helps, but this should still be the case even with Killap's patch.
On the other hand, Flick's shop inventory (like most shop-keeps) is random.
So unless you're asking what the critter is supposed to have on his body by itself (not including shop stuff), which is usually just a pistol iirc. I'd have to do some digging to find out the actual items he's equipped with by default.
