First time out of the vault
Hi everybody, i repost my dream in a single thread, at the end there's the fourth part, maybe one day our nephews will make
a total conversion based on our ideas, because if IPLY folllow
console thread, we will have Super Pipboy Bros, a platform
where a power armor pipboy jumps like a kangaroo...
part one
Hi everybody, I'm a old fallout gamer and a newbie in these forums.
I started a silly thread in fallout's mod and hacking forum filling
it with my ideas, but someone, Briosafreak, said to get
myself more in touch with the technical aspects and the
background of the game and then start again...and i think he was not completely wrong, then Dan, suggested that my ideas were taken from FO:BOS files, but it was a compliment for me, so I started to write down my dream about Fallout 3, and i want to continue it here, with a good english/italian dictionary on my side.
If you think that i'm a stupid newbie with the head full of c**p,
don't worry say it, i have becomed almost immune about flames,
so feel yourself free to insult me as you want, but if you can take
a moment to read about my stupid dream you are welcome.
But warning it could be a spoiler
Here you are my dream (please be patient with my primitive english):
One day, one of my friend called me at telephone yelling: Fallout 3 is out!!!!!!
so i ran out to buy a copy, then i came back at home for the installation, of course the Humongous installation of 20 gigas.
Finally i started the game.
The sound track was "What a wonderful world" of Armstrong, at the beginning you have a little pipboy anime (cartoon for uncle sam's friends and not friends) where you see how pipboy vault dweller fights against bad mutants, bad ghouls, bad deathclaws...and finally free humans from those dangers and gain the G.E.C.K. and Enclave? who knows they apparently forget to put them inside.
Then start the movie, It's in first person point of view.
You sleeping but someone, an old man with a bizzarre
blue suit with 13 number on the back, wakes you up,
it is time for experiments. Infact every day, old
men check your body, blood, urine, reflexes etc...and
tell you that another of your brothers and sisters is died...
it's the problem when there is no variety into genetic trasmissions,
life outside the vault is impossible, old people always said that,
so sexual intercourse with different people is a problem...
and you are very lucky, because you continue to live,
yes the life in a vault is not good but outside is a hell of radiations... this is what you know about outside world.
Then you spend the rest of the day making excercise, talking and
joking with your brothers and sisters, you are the elder, then you go to bed.
It is the routine, but something happens...
During the night, suddendly they wake you up, is one of the old
man, he is very scary, give you a gun, some stimpacks, a letter, and tells you:
"We are all dead, we are all dead, they discovered us, but you,
you have to survive, remember son, our son, you have to survive
for you and for us" then he narcotizes you (is correct? drug for sleeping)
You wake up in a cavern, but there is no vault, you are alone,
they always told you that life is impossible outside, but now
you have only this message: "Son go south, talk to Ingrid in Vault city,
and survive for you for us"
Why? What was that vault? Who were the old men? What happen? but at least but not the last:
Who are you? What damn are you? You have a stupid blue suit, a stupid gun, and a stupid letter against a hell of radiation, how you can manage to survive?
Part two
You take control of your carachter, the visual is firt person point of
view, but you switch, like morrowind in third point of view, the action is in real time, but i read on my huge manual, that when some npc will join my party, i have the possibility to choose between orders in real time, and paused, i mean, you give them orders like Unreal Tournament: cover me, heal yourself, attack, hold position, use your best weapon, your best armor,
with the possibility to pause the game, or during action, but at the end only your reflexes will save you.
So i started my travel, i go out the cavern, and i'm in a mountain zone, so i take south direction, very close to cavern there is a little house, or something that looks like an house, it is a cavern with a sort of door, maybe i will find something so i decided to visit it, but there is someone.
It is a living rotting corpse, i'm an old fallout gamer, and despite his
modifications caused by the years, i recognize him, he is the old Harold.
He is very surprised to see me, he tells me his name, Harold of course, then he asks me to catch some water for him, there is a little sorgent nearby, but is too old and tired to risk to meet some bear_rat, so he was waiting death until my arrive, some water and then he will talk to me...it's a deal.
I go to take the water and i barely manage to survive against a giant rant then i came back. Harold drink everything, then i ask about the bear rat that i've met, he smiles, based on my description, he understand that it wasn't an
adult one, i was lucky.
Part three
Then he tells me how he was surprised to see here an human alone, without gas/radiation mask, how he was surprised to see my blue suit with 13 on the back.
He told me the story of the vault dweller and the chosen one, he smiles, he says that his destiny is to meet special people without the possibility to help them, now he is too old to join me, but he can tells me a little about the situation in the wastes.
After humans have gained g.e.c.k. and enclave technologies, they becomed very powerfull in the wastes. They started a sort of colonization, at the beginning they tolerated mutants, ghouls and deathclaws, but then something changed, between brothrhood of steel, racist therioes spreaded out.
Humans have the right to the rule the world, all this mess was caused by mutants ghouls and deathclaws,they forgot, Harold smiles, that were humans to initiate the third world war...A new party called vault 13 taked control of the human federation between NCR and Vault city, with the help of BoS.
A new era will arise they claimed, and they started to exterminate, brutalize and enslave mutants, ghouls and deathclaws, and they tryed to revitalize the wastes using heavily g.e.c.k.
But indeed, humans were scared by mutants,who becomed fertilize, by ghouls, who live in radiation zones like a fish in water, and by deathclaw, strong and very smart. Humans taked control of the wastes, but later they discovered that level of radiations was grew up, thanks to g.e.c.k., more they used it, and more radiation level increased. Animals started to change they becomed
bigger and stronger, like mutants, and deathclaws, and ghouls it was a heaven form them... The time of revenge was arrived, a war between muties,ghouls, and deathclaw against the sicked humans arised, and they barely survived thanks to their advanced technologies, but they are not the leader of the wastes anymore.
They lived in the south sealed in their fortified cities, they patrols wastes for slaves, but not with the old arrogance. Mutants are the new tribals, waiting for the master who will free them. Ghouls lives in most radioactive zones, and they started to believed to be the real superior race.
Deathclaws have colonized the mountains, and they are tolerated because they kill the giant beasts to feeds themselves. But it's a shame, they lived like beasts, but they are intelligent, humans forced them to live like this.
So man, he smiled, who will rule the wasteland?
who is the real superior race?
go south boy, there is no space here for you.
If you meet mutants, ghouls, you are dead...
also for deathclaws, and don't forgive giant beasts...

Part four
So in my dream we have the possibility of different plots, every
race wanr to rule the wasteland, and it doesn't exclude political
subplot between and against different factions of the same race,
i, mean, every race could have some pacifist, racist etc, factions etc.
Our avatar is a genetic freak, so, no only S.P.E.C.I.A.L. but also
the possibility to change race, and making the right quests,
becoming the new master, the new dictator/president, the new
Seth and maybe a deathclaw champion...too much fantasy
In my dream the situation is this: humans live like european
medieval age of castles. A fortified center where the militar, political, cultural elite lives...and in the sorrounding zones, we have
farmers, little towns and military fort, like the U.S.A. far west with
raiders and some tribals. Human slavery between humans is
banned but slaver' guild is very powerfull, the human military elite
is based on Frankye Horry's brothers...
Closest to human cities we have nomadic clans of mutants, like
barbarian migrations after the collapse of roman empire...they
are always looking for loots and they are waiting for the new master/gengis khan to break everybody's a**...
Ghouls live near nuclear implants, temples for them, they can't
wear heavy armors, due their rotting corpse, but they have the
funny ability to regain lost healts points, like wolverine of x-men...
Deathclaws are strong and smart, but they live like lions in africa,
very little clans, their principal occupation is to feed themselves and
avoid fire weapons...
Paradoxical the most "melting polt" gangs are Raiders, everybody
could join them, after some "little" tests, but nobody could leave them...giants animals are principally insects, reptiles and rats,
nothing new, about weapon, what lacks in fallout universe?
maybe some "medieval" weapons with new materials, solar
weapons like gatlings, venom bullets, radioactive bullets...
