So whats wrong with Fallout being 3D? Absoulty nothing,. its sitll going to be form the same view point, its still going to let you control your character in the same manner as you always have...You can't possibly think they they should make Fallout 3 wiht 256 colors and 640 x 480 resolution,. no of course you don't that would just be thoughtless...anywhoo, now this is why I think this is a good idea. If they do decide to implement the new rotatable camera this will alow for more exlporation of the Fallout world, no longer will you be bound to what has been pre-drawn, no you will be able to approach the enviroment from the point of view that you want, this ocld also be used for puzzles or for more realalism,. maybe you have to go behind buildings and turn the camera around to see that there is a small boy hiding in the shadows or somthing along those lines, maybe some kind of switch of hidden entrance, the things that can be done with this are pretty cool...also I bet some ppl are already saying that "this isnt Fallout" (tm)...well it is, its still a post apoclyptic world, with a heavy 50s influence, with a very good story, and very developed RPG system, all that has changed is that the medium in which you view the Fallout World, and nothing is wrong with that...sure it could suck if they do it half assed, but than again so could another Fallout 3 with the same engine as Fallout 1 & 2, so don't get all hysterical just because they have decided to give the game a face lift, I am an aritst, and a games design and graphical appeal/style is very important too me, just as much as the story or anything else for that matter.

Just to recap, Stale and Old graphics are bad, Fallout Universe good! :-)

I was really supportive of what Hendee once said, about Fallout 3 possibly using a heavily modified Myth II engine.

If the medium changed, then it's not a problem. As long as it doesn't become a damn camera game (kind of like how U9 was at times).

"OOOH! Thank you, Master!"

"Don't mention it."

Sure, i prefer a 1024*768 Fallout.
Sure, the 3D view could be good. But if they dont do that view properly, the atmosphere which stand in the 2 first FO would dissapear...
If they do a 3D which stand in the FO atmosphere, i'm ok.

(i hope, i made it :D)

They`re still discussing if it`s going to have zoom or not, i don`t mind the myth camera style, but i prefer as it is, maybe with some automatic zoom for dramatic purposes in some places (like in incubator) but generally i would prefer things to be more like fo2...

...having said that i wonder how the change to polygons will cut the map viewing distance and the quantity of npc`s, i guess 258 megs of ram will be mandatory...or maybe not, if the guys that are trying to do Republica can pull it off, i guess anything is possible, i`ll have to wait and see...

I think it'd be pretty cool if it zoomed in whenever a minigun ripped someone to shreds.

Ya, they can create a lot of very interesting camera tricks..but I don't think that 258 ram wil be very important, becasue you prolly won't see the entire detailed town at once...you will see bits of it at once..and besdies I think the video card will be more important, but im sure a 16mb voodoo3 will do just fine...
