(as usel, I hope I dont repeat any ones idea's)
I have a plot idea, sence the Enclave claimed to be the United States Of America, why not have the Real U.S.A. pop out of hiding and atempt to reclaim the country (and a little bit more land mass wile their at it ;'),think about it, the U.S. Government is way to smart to stay above ground, while a corperation, Vault Tek, is producing Vaults by the dozzens, heck, the government probly is already half way burried under the ground incase of a little thing like necular fallout. But the actual US government could come out of hiding with its flag flying true and start maping out its new borders, wich would probly be all of north america, and probly even south america, then the Enclave would hear about it, claim its the true US government and start a little war for the claim of the offical title of the American Government. In the mean time, you get cought in the middle of the whole thing, and have to sort out the mess, and choose sides, the Enclave, or what looks to be the athentic United States Government.

its not a bad idea but remember you nuked the enclave in FO2 why not have the NCR or the chinese be the bad guys (or good depending on your slant) it seems to be a gen. idea that we need a war in FO3

Since I'm against a post-FO2 game, I would have to say I don't like it. I'd rather have FO3 be seperate from 1 & 2. Have it set 50-110 years after the nuclear fallout and in a different area that California. I would prefer to leave the west altogether.

Another idea

Another idea I like that keeps returning to this board is that Fallout 3 could be a prequel. It would be easier going back to that "one man against the world" feeling.

to be quite honest i don't give a shit about the american government
& the enclave was the american government

RE: Another idea

Heh, i'm a fan of the "prequel" idea, but i think a pre-apocalypse story would be more suitable for FO: Tactics. Like a story that shows how the whole thing happened. For example, your squad could be an elite special operations group with the mission to prevent nuclear war. You go through all the missions, and at the end there are two possibilities - to die in a nuclear blast, or take place in a shelter. If you're wondering, in both outcomes you fail to prevent the nukes from dropping, but you have the opportunity to save your own life by entering a vault. Both outcomes introduce the original Fallout story, and if you save your ass in Vault 13 here is a link to the original Vault Dweller. Not that i think this idea is ONLY suitable for Tactics, but it just seems to not fit in a real RPG.

Hydra...

I doubt that the real American government would be hiding out on an oil rig.

My belif

Fallout is such a great game i mean think how many people there are in this forum all waiting nicely for the release of Fallout 3. I think Fallout 3 should be a BIG sequel to Fallout 2 combining all the things that happened in the prezious games. All the locations and some more. Then interplay should work on an even bigger Fallout 4 but on the way they should release a prequel to fallout and some stand alone stories in the same backround but a diffrent place.

I think Fallout 3 should be too big to have a war between 2 lots of people like that. I belive in factions each has a boss you work for one do loads of quests and then meet your friendly boss and he might come with you to finally assualt the bosses of the other factions. i also think they should make an easy addition of a sequel and then close this chapter of fallout and make something even further in future and only influenced slightly by your distant ancestors actions. So in conclusion fallout 3 should be a really big re-playable faction based game.

All the factions are in poloitical and physical wars over many diffrent things and will all do what it takes.

RE: My belif

This is quite weird. Do you systematically go through every single page of archives and systematically answer every single message?

RE: My belif

Fang's been ignoring you Jim Bob. Probably too busy digging through the archives.

The Enclave was the actual US Government! What do you mean, "Why were they hiding out on an oil rig?" Maybe to get away from the EMP Pulse or at least the radiation? Where the hell did you get the idea they weren't, anyway?

RE: Another idea

I am for the prequel idea myself. Think of this, a doomsday cult that calls itself the Brotherhood Of Steel is trying to destroy the world, the corrupt US Government doesn't like this and so sends you to stop them, you are accomanied by a party of FBI officers of something, which turn out to be members of the Brotherhood and convince you to join them, you then must find a way to get China and the US to olbliberate each other...

Interesting, but...

The overall idea behind the fallout "series" as it seems to be is that it goes forward. OK so the idea of being in the past is great but why when there are other possibilities in the future. The whole world must have other survivors, and so there is another segment of the game that could be explored, a globe instead of north America. The idea of the US coming back to take its "rightful" place is also a good one.

hey if someone has answered too it about what it's supposed to be about (Fallout 3) then it's worth going through the archives and renewing the greatest ideas so that any newcomers can see the most recent and the best ideas and comments.

Yeah the American Government sucks. They'd accidentally target everyone on the mainland with FEV to draw attention away from the President's affair with "Miss Meowsky."

"Its flag flying true"
You mean our president is Bill Clinton and you're patriotic? *cough*idiot*cough*

Is the US Government too "just, fair, and honest" to be an evil organization like the Enclave? You want fair and honest I'll give you watergate, whitewater, and Billy's little *affair*

HUr HUr HUr

A prequel would be a bad idea because if you do a prequel you must make it complytly sutible with the other games and that saverly limits your plot options.

The US goverment is dead, it has been more than 100 years since the bombs fell, the goverment most probably had plans on how to reistablish itself and the USA after the war, but as the vaults those plans too did most probably fail.

The enclave most probably was originly somehow connected to the govermet, but not being ment to be isolated and alone most probly lost its perpose( see privios paragrath).

I agry with skie and hummer81 fallout should go forward but in a difrent area (I would post my more compleat idea tomorow).

RE: Interesting, but...

Yes forward idea is good, but fallout spirit is post-apocalypse, so cities, and all that wouldn't be in the "fallout original spirit", knows as : raiders, gangs, weapons, waste and all that...

Agree, i believe that all governments all around the world destroyed themselves, so i say them : go to hell !!! 8o)

RE: My belif

Don't forget that the Chosen One settled a new town with the GECK ! As it happened for Sandy Sands, this town could grow up and establishe a country... Against NCR ???

I don't want to hurt anyone, but i say that :

I'm not from USA, so i say that with external eyes (maybe u guess i'm not US from how i express myself ?)
8-ball is right, american's gov sucks ! They said usa is freedom country but in some town of california u can't smoke at YOUR home, or neighboor will call police ! In order to be politicaly acceptable, the gov votes for lots of laws, which at the end seem to give to every1 freedom, but only little piece ! To my opinion, i'm afraid when i see all lawsuit for nothing americans do ! A woman who win 1.000.000$ because his micro wave instructions didn't said it's not good to put his cat in the micro wave !!! Well, i think that as 8-ball said, american system and gov is pretty mad and devil in order to be the enclave !!!
