Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition will be released on November 10

Does someone actually still play that game?

I tried it and forced myself to keep going up to 17 or so hours and I can’t remember a more boring game.

There’s nothing of intrigue in the world. Like a gimped Elder Scrolls (pre Oblivion) without any push to move forward, not even the learn-by-use skill progression for grinding.

I think the same, the game feels so flat, almost every npc is generical, and the few that are interesting are wasted. The story feels forced and every rpg aspect that made Fallout 1,2 n NV is missing, also Roleplaying is completely removed with that shit of new dialogue display they made where there's basically no negative option, you accept or you fuck yourself. The other thing missing are the hookers, why the fuck are no hookers? Its like having a GTA with no cars.

Plus i wouldn't be surprised if they toned down a lot of the more controversial aspects of the game.
Either removal of joining the Legion or the Legion gets chungus changed?

Why don't they reprint the All Roads comic? With the show taking place in New Vegas and all.
Because they're idiots. The playing card deck that came with the FNV Collectors Edition is another merch store item they could sell and just refuse to. They could sell those metal boxes with poker chips in them but use the FNV Collectors Edition's chips for it. They could do comics. They could do a deal with a soda company to start selling Fallout universe drinks, not as a merch store item, but as a convenience store item. Bethesda/Zenimax/Microsoft are absolute buffoons when it comes to milking the IP with merch.

Wasn't it Windows live first or was that Fallout 3?
Yeah, 3 had the mandatory Windows Live thing. NV shipped with a DVD that I think could at best install the game to your Steam account to save you a download, but you could not run it without Steam.
It was a whole thing.

I can’t imagine they’d actually change anything in a New Vegas remaster other than converging the different races together and changing male/female to body type 1/2.

Would be cool if they got rid of the gates that divide up Freeside and the Strip, and added back all that shit they cut out like the kids chasing the rat, the escorts at the east gate entrance, and the lake in Jacobstown.

A lot of this does point towards the Fallout 3 remaster rumours being true however, it's the only Bethesda mainline Fallout game not getting a rerelease of some kind, and the others are purely a release, not a remaster, but the original game just with some added stuff.

I just started replaying Fallout 4 as part of my big Fallout series playthrough, and even 2 hours in, the downgrade in quality from New Vegas to 4 is staggering. Heck, I think F4 is worse than F3.
The early pacing is all over the place. If you where to do the quests as they ask you to, within the first couple of hours, you've;
1. Found your Home again
2. Killed some raiders
3. Given power armor and killed a deathclaw
4. Asked to raid an entire massive area with Raiders and turrets.

The first two are okay, but 3&4 should be swapped, and they shouldn't arrive this early in the game.

i'd trust a meth addict more with taking the fallout franscise in a good dirction because obviously Todd or whoever makes these fucking descisions is so mentally retarded that they probably couldnt get a square through a square hole
Really, at this point, bugthesda is at bottom of the barrel and they keep going deeper

not just that, but it doesnt feel like a nuclear fallout imo, they basically just made a zombie apocalypse rpg, minus the zombies, and slapped the occasional rad storm in there, for the rest it feels like a nice stroll through the park.

I have dozens more mods in F4 than NV, because NV is damn near perfect, it doesn’t need much more to complete the package whereas F4 is honestly just embarrassing. I need mods to fix the weapons, I need mods to fix the environment, I need mods to fix the companions, mods to fix the friggen DLC even because the “creation club” outright breaks the game.

No offense, but at that point just play a good game. Don't get the people that install mods to basically change everything in the game, is it because Fallout 4 has Fallout in the title? Hardly a good excuse for that much work.

Shit, the only thing i do with New Vegas is install bugs and perfomance fixes. Don't need more than that.

I definitely can’t play New Vegas without mods. I probably haven’t since I played it on the xbox for the first year it was out. I need mods to tone down bullet-sponginess at the very least.

Sometimes you want a certain set of gameplay rules that you just cannot find anywhere else and a Bethesda game has that certain set of rules that other games do not. All NPC's for example, are entities within the gameworld that run on relatively the same rules as you the player. Which means that anything on them exists and anything they acquire will also exist. In Fallout 3 players on consoles would give the caravans power armor and heavy weapons by reverse pick pocketing them to keep them alive, because they were not essential and did in fact travel the overworld just like you.

AFAIK this is not possible in The Witcher 3.

That's one of the reasons players come back to Bethesda, no matter how shitty their games are, because of that certain combination of gameplay elements that can be fixed with just a few dozen mods.

Obviously the alternative is to not play a Bethesda game and not waste time modding it, but if you do you won't get that type of gameplay. Like if I'm interested in playing an RTS then I don't want to play Wii Golf. And I don't want to play a weird RTS either. I don't wanna play some hybrid RTS mixed with long term city building. No I want an RTS with a campaign. I know what I want and there's only so many games that give me that.

As garbage as Bethesda games are, there simply isn't competition cause no one else has the same set of gameplay rules.

sure, but in turn they do make a lot of characters essential, take new vegas for example, you can kill just about anyone important, exept for yes man, which has a valid lore reason not to be killed, while in fallout 3 and 4 they either turn unconcious or get knocked down.

i mean this aint fortnite, its fallout, its been fucked if you compare it to the original games.
