Fallout China

Hard to say. I'm not sure how it would work personally, being that the game is centered around US culture. Maybe there would be an Emperor of some sort like they thought about in the unreleased RTS Fallout. You couldn't have regular vaults or Mutants that's for sure. They would need to come up with new material. No BoS either. No Enclave. Hong Kong would be a nice sight though.

It could work, but it would feel significantly less "Fallout-y" to me, given that the American element is likely going to be extremely limited, and that's always characterized the series to a degree. Still, couldn't hurt for a spin-off, it might even bring a few fresh ideas, as long as the treatment of the "Chinese menace" doesn't fall into racial stereotypes and is a little more nuanced.

can be done if the designers think through it carefully
also, Fallout China may be inappropriate for next sequel, but can be an interesting secondary sequel, like we can still have Fallout 4 sets in America, but whatever immediately comes after Fallout 4 sets in China, or Canada, etc

now, hear this, when there is a splinter faction of Chinese remnants in post-apocalyptic America (Shi of San Fran), then why we can't have a bunch of American remnants in nuclear ravaged China???
U.S. had deployed plenty troops in T51b power armor before the bombs fell, certainly there must be someones left over in China mainland

a lot people say that could destroy the atmosphere of Fallout franchise, NOT NECESSARILY: we can still have the retro-futuristic atmosphere by borrowing the 1950s Chinese communist cultural elements, just imaging all of those retro Chinese posters in Operation Anchorage

a Chinese setting will also allow us to see all kinds of new critters, new kinds of raiders, factions, etc. After Fallout 1 & 2 & Tactics & BoS & Fallout 3 & New Vegas, we are really running out of color and ideas!!! people want see new things beside Enclave, BoS, Caesar's Legion and NCR

after all, we can even have the protagonist to face plenty awesome moral dilemmas,
For example, just an example, let's say, whoever dominates the post-apocalyptic China now wish to re-launch few nuclear bombs on U.S. mainland, as a long forgotten revenge for what Chinese had suffered in last 200 years, and our American decedent protagonist must choose either side with U.S., which himself has no memorable connection with at all, except his long forgotten ancestors were originated there, or, he can side with Chinese aggressors who have been his friends since his childhood, or maybe a 3rd route, etc etc etc

Had an Idea for a mod for F3 like that at one time, the player would get a plane ride by a junksman who had a working airplane, and was about to take a flight to china and for a price could take the player with him but the plane crashes and the PC gets captured by the chinese a la pit. He then had to earn his/her freedom by doing quests, eventually being set free or escaping. IT would combine a new open world of PL like exploring the ruis of post-apocalyptic Shanghai and the nearby desert and swamps with new creatures/factions with their own questlines and a bar in a middle of nowhere where you could take assasination/thief quests among others, like a guild base, all that combined with a quest line of like that from the pitt, eventually the PC would have to choose a side of neo communist party that control the area or another party(either anarchists or the people or a diffrent clan like shi I never got far enough to choose) and had to either stop the launching of nukes after the communists found out from you US was not wiped out completely, or fire them elsewhere. you could of course get a game over by still deciding to launch nukes on DC if you wanted to, resulting in an ending a la mutant end F1. I think I they did make a game or even DLC set in china it could definetly work if done right. BTW what do you make of my idea, IF I made a mod like that for F3/NV would you play it or what would you change about it?
