fallout half life mod

First time out of the vault
Me and a few friends are in discussion about building a multiplayer mod for half life 2 set in the fallout world in this comming summer. Fallout weapons, arid junktown maps, humans and posibly ghouls as character models, that sort of thing.

so quick question, what weapons would you most like to see?
Few rules, Firstly No gatling guns they would be too unbalancing in the game, and would be very difficult for us to make anyway. there will also be at max 10 guns, as were shooting to finish this in one summer. 2 default weapons will be with you at the start the 10 mill pistol and the basic knife. That leaves 8 weapons that I leave up to you. What do you think would be fun?

Not the wisest of choises... that particular choice causes a negative reaction.

I suggest choice #1.

ah well, before you get banned, let me tell you what weapons I'd like to see;

the one's you said
AK112
Hunting Rifle
Sniper Rifle
14mm Pistol
Laser Rifle
Plasma Rifle (+turbo plasma rifle, shouldn't be too hard as it looks allmost the same)
.223 Pistol
Flamer
Rocket Launcher

Actually the best thing would be to implement all waeapons from Fallout1, with maybe the exception of the desert eagle....

EDIT: ack, I forgot the melee weapons...arr go for more than ten guns and I might help you with some models :P

The flame thrower won't really be possible. There isn't already one in hl2 and those things are practically impossible to program. That's why almost no game ever has them any more.

It's not so much that they are impossible to program (heck, RtCW had them and they looked great), it's more that the engines are rarely programmed with such weapons in mind and thus make it mindboggingly difficult to implement them.

Impossible enough considering our actual skills at the time.

Yes, but that doesn't mean flamethrowers are impossible to program, it just means most game developers think they're not worth the trouble and most modders (obviously) don't have the knowledge required to create them with the given limitations.
